John Lewis famously said, “Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part…”. Be a part of the democratic process, because in a democracy every registered citizen has the right and the responsibility to vote in every election. Help your family, friends and neighbors to be good citizens. It’s about what we do! Every election is a mandate on the importance of the vote, and the integrity of every vote cast. Your vote counts, and must be counted.

In America, voting is often a right we take for granted. That is, until someone tries to take it away. Make no mistake, someone is coming for your vote. Not by trying to earn it with campaign promises, but through voter misinformation and fear tactics.

Some states are attempting to threaten poll workers and elected officials with fines and criminal prosecution for dubious violations, and trying to give legislatures the power to override electoral outcomes based on unproven allegations.

Our responsibility as citizens goes beyond the voting booth. Long before he was president, a young Abraham Lincoln said, “If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.” We need to help ensure that voting is protected and made available to all who are eligible. We need to help ensure that every vote is counted! Voting rights belong to all citizens equally.

So don’t wait for someone to urge you to take action. The clock is ticking as we zero in on this 2025 Gubernatorial Election. Protecting our democratic principles is patriotic, not partisan. ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2025.
